Clare Wells, chief executive of New Zealand Kindergartens Te Pūtahi Kura Puhou o Aotearoa (NZK) has been re-appointed to the Education Council for a further term.
“I’m delighted to continue as a member of the Council” said Clare Wells. “The Council’s focus is on excellence in teaching and learning, and making sure every child experiences success wherever they are in our education system.”
The Education Council was set up in July 2015 as the professional body for 100,000 registered teachers in New Zealand.
“The Council has an ambitious agenda to ‘lift and shift’ teaching practice and to raise the status of profession. I am excited about the prospect of the profession as a whole working together to achieve those goals” Clare Wells said.
