Children’s Day 2015 - Treasure our Children
New Zealand Kindergartens (NZK) acknowledges Children’s Day, Sunday, 1 March.
“This year’s theme, Treasure our Children, inspires a sense of collective responsibility for the wellbeing of our children,” said Clare Wells, Chief Executive, New Zealand Kindergartens. “It is our job, as a society, to ensure all children are treasured, nurtured and supported to reach their full potential.”
“While parents, caregivers and whānau have unique aspirations for their children, all share a desire to do what’s best for them,” said Clare Wells. “By prioritising and treasuring our children, we support their dreams, as well as build stronger families, communities and a positive future for all of us.”
Children’s Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the status of children in New Zealand and think about how we can support our youngest citizens.
