New Zealand Kindergartens makes new appointments

New Zealand Kindergartens (NZK) Board has made two new appointments in line with its purpose of growing and strengthening the kindergarten movement.

NZK President James Patea said today the board played a significant role in ensuring kindergarten was available, accessible, affordable and appropriate for every child so he was delighted to welcome two new high calibre board members to the team.

Dr Jean Martin is an independent organisation development executive with extensive leadership, business, and governance experience within central government agencies and commercial organisations.

Jean has a passion for business and governance excellence, accessible best practice education services, and the delivery of customer service that meets the needs of communities. She has a strong reputation as a strategic thinker able to constructively engage, influence, and work with others in identifying future focused strategic opportunities and converting these into governance policies and operational initiatives that achieve the strategic intent of an organisation.

Sarah Tocker is a Principal Associate at Tocker Associates Limited. She works with senior leaders and lead teams in the areas of specialist leadership and learning / development consultation, strategy and trend development, facilitation, design, development, and implementation and review of leadership and learning work across the public, private and not for profit sectors.

She is interested in work that can offer variation and challenge, as well as the opportunity to help others develop themselves and support those around them.

James said he looked forward to welcoming Jean and Sarah to the board in May.
